Activité : jouer à l’espion et fabriquer de l’encre invisible (5 ans et +)

Activity: playing spy and making invisible ink (5 years and over)

If your child enjoys the world of espionage and detectives, we have found the perfect activity to organize at home! Very simple to make, not requiring complicated materials to obtain, it will brighten up one of the afternoons of these bridges in May.

Material :

- a lemon
- a glass
- a white sheet
- a brush

- spoon
- some water

Activity :

1) Ask your child to squeeze the lemon into the glass. Help him if he doesn't have the strength to extract all the juice. He can then pour a little water into it and mix it all together with a spoon.

2) The preparation is already ready!
All you have to do is dip the brush in it to write a secret message on the white sheet. Close your eyes and let him write his secret code!

3) Then let it dry for ten minutes. The post has disappeared!!

4) To read the message, the adult must hold the sheet above a heat source (stove, hair dryer, candle, lighter, etc. ).

Explanation :

As it warms up, the lemon oxidizes and turns brown!

Extension of activity:

- You are free to create, in collaboration with your child, a whole spy story around this game.
-
If one of your children is too young to know how to write, why not replace the coded message with a drawing?

Qualities developed:

- Writing
- Imagination
- Patience
